Making of Nido

Nido is the Spanish word for Nest. My thesis film, Nido is inspired on my relationship with my father. It's a reflective short piece where the support of a father and growing up are two big themes. The title for the film comes from the saying 'a bird leaving the nest.' This metaphor for when children leave their parent's home to learn to be independent and someday make their own home is very relatable to me as my final college year is here and I come really close to entering the real world.

Third Pass

The third and final pass was done once the character design had already been found and I had given the scenes more thought. Although a couple shots were taken out and others added or modified, these boards are pretty much the final vision of Nido.

Second Pass (act II & III)

The second pass was mostly a more detailed view of the more complicated scenes, to have a clearer vision of the film.

First Pass

Once one random interesting image appears in my head it tends to inspire a sequence of images in a fast pace. The first pass of boards were the result of the strong inspiration spark that ended up being my thesis film.
